True Corporation has been recognized on the national stage as its intelligent cyber-threat protection system, “True CyberSafe,” won the prestigious 2025 National Innovation Award in the Social and Environmental category (Large and Medium Enterprise segment).
The award, presented by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), reinforces True’s role in developing groundbreaking digital innovations that create a safe, trusted, and reliable digital society for all Thai citizens.
The award was presented by Dr.Chutima Aimchotchawalit, Chairman of the National Innovation Board of Thailand, to True Corporation representatives, including Sharad Mehrotra, Chief Consumer Business Officer, and Dr.Naetchanok Wipatasinlapin, Head of Sustainability Division, during the 2025 National Innovation Day ceremony.
Leveraging AI to Block 2.2 Billion Fraud Attempts
Sharad Mehrotra stated that the recognition underscores True’s commitment to being an innovation-driven organization. He emphasized that the development of True CyberSafe is crucial for building a trusted digital society and delivering the best customer experience.
“True CyberSafe was developed with intelligent AI technology capable of detecting, blocking, and alerting users to suspicious or harmful links in real time,” Mr. Mehrotra explained. “To date, the system has protected customers from more than 2.2 billion attempts to click on fraudulent links and answer dangerous phone calls, averaging 8 million daily protection attempts.”
He added that this capability allows customers to navigate the increasingly complex digital world with confidence and peace of mind.
Innovation as a Cornerstone of Social Responsibility and Future Growth
Dr.Naetchanok Wipatasinlapin highlighted the system’s role in corporate social responsibility. “True CyberSafe is a clear example of how we integrate technology with social responsibility. Receiving this award serves as a strong motivation for us to continue innovating,” she said.
Dr.Naetchanok detailed True’s extensive innovation efforts, noting that the company currently has over 1,040 employees dedicated to innovation, with more than 116 patents and petty patents already registered. Looking ahead, True aims to cultivate an additional 500 innovators, generate no less than 15% of its revenue from innovation, and register up to 200 intellectual property assets by 2030.
The Technology Behind True CyberSafe
True CyberSafe is a free cyber protection service available to over 60 million True customers across its mobile and home internet networks, requiring no registration or app download. Its core features include:
- Real-time Malicious Link Blocking: Immediately blocks blacklisted links from Cyber Police. For suspicious links, the system issues a 60-second warning (“Caution: This may be a dangerous website”). It currently tracks over 455,000 suspicious links.
- Call AI Filter: Uses data from over 300,000 suspicious numbers (provided by Cyber Police) to instantly screen or warn against potential scam calls.
- SMS AI Filter: (Coming soon) Uses AI to detect scam SMS by analyzing scammer behavior.
Additionally, True offers the 9777 Scam Report service, allowing the public to easily report scam calls and receive investigation results within 24 hours.
