Electrolux pledges 85% operational emission reduction by 2030

อีเลคโทรลักซ์ ประกาศเดินหน้าลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก จากการดำเนินงาน 85% ภายในปี 2030

Electrolux, the global home appliance leader from Sweden, reaffirmed its long-term ambition to achieve Net-Zero Carbon Emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. Speaking at the SX Sustainability Expo 2025, Southeast Asia’s largest sustainable innovation platform, Alexis Richard, General Manager of Electrolux Thailand, emphasized the company’s accelerated progress toward its climate goals.

Richard announced the Group’s new, more ambitious targets set after achieving its first science-based climate goal in 2022, three years ahead of schedule. The new roadmap to net-zero includes:

  • Reducing operational carbon emissions (Scope 1 & 2) by 85% by 2030.
  • Reducing product-related emissions (Scope 3) by 42% by 2030.
  • Aiming to increase the share of recycled steel and plastic used in production to 35% by 2030.

Driving Circularity Through the ‘For the Better 2030’ Framework

Richard highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to circularity under its comprehensive ‘For the Better 2030’ sustainability framework, which is structured around three core pillars: Better Company, Better Solutions, and Better Living, alongside the Group’s Climate Goals.

“Sustainability is an integral part of our global strategy,” Richard stated. “As the regional commercial hub for Asia, with our Rayong factory serving as one of our global manufacturing sites, Thailand plays a key role in contributing to our sustainability targets—particularly by bringing sustainable products to our local consumers.”

He added that Electrolux offers “circular solutions” that enable consumers to enjoy great-tasting food, ensure clothes last longer, and promote healthy well-being at home through energy- and resource-efficient product innovations.

Sustainability as a Competitive Strength

Richard pointed out that sustainability is no longer just a corporate goal but a significant market driver, noting that two-thirds of global consumers consider it an important purchase criterion for home appliances.

Electrolux’s leadership in sustainability is validated by the prestigious EcoVadis Gold rating, placing the company in the top 5% of over 70,000 global companies.

“We will continue to push ourselves and the entire industry toward even bolder commitments that make sustainable living the new standard,” Richard concluded, reinforcing the company’s strong track record in responsible business and sustainable innovation.
