Strong 2025 Performance Sets Stage for Growth

Nattaporn Runghajornklin, Country Manager of WeTV Thailand, reported significant achievements in 2025:

  • Market Standing: WeTV remains a leader in the streaming market with over 55 million downloads, ranking No. 1 in Advertising Video on Demand (AVOD) and No. 2 in Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) platforms.
  • Financial Growth: Paid subscriptions grew by 40%, driving subscription revenue up by 45% year-over-year.
  • Engagement: Users spent an average of 100 minutes per day on the platform, placing WeTV among the top two OTT platforms in Southeast Asia in terms of monthly watch time per user.

Viewer trends confirm the strong preference for Asian content: Chinese series account for over 50% of paid subscriptions, while Thai content, led by the surging popularity of Boy’s Love (BL) and Girl’s Love (GL) series, accounts for 30% of paid subscriptions.

WeTV’s 2026 “3C” Core Strategies

For 2026, WeTV will accelerate its business momentum through three distinct strategies:

1. Content Excellence

WeTV is committed to producing and curating world-class content, aiming for over 500 premium Chinese series across various categories (C-Series, C-Miniseries, C-Anime, etc.). Furthermore, the platform will solidify its position as “The Biggest Hub of Girl’s Love Content” in Thailand by expanding its original lineup with:

  • At least six new original BL titles.
  • Eight new GL-exclusive license releases.

WeTV will also collaborate on Licensing and Revenue-Sharing models to distribute high-quality content globally and introduce more mass-appealing Thai variety shows and dramas to cater to local preferences.

2. Connect Through Experience

The platform aims to deepen user engagement by seamlessly blending online and offline experiences (O2O). Initiatives include:

  • Hosting fan meetings with Chinese artists in Thailand.
  • Organizing exclusive fan trips to China.
  • Expanding community-driven activities around BL and GL content to strengthen fandom bonds and drive continuous interaction.

3. Co Create to Shared Success

This strategy focuses on empowering partners and promoting Thai content as soft power globally. Key initiatives include:

  • Launching “Shorts x WeTV,” a new initiative to empower creators and partners to produce high-quality short-form content for digital audiences, with distribution opportunities across WeTV’s global network, including China.
  • Utilizing HEADLINER THAILAND artists to connect the WeTV business ecosystem with creative and commercial partners for long-term collaborative growth.

Nattaporn concluded with aggressive targets: “WeTV will continue to strengthen its position as Asia’s leading premium video streaming platform through quality content from Thailand, Southeast Asia, and China. For 2026, we target a 20% increase in total revenue and 30% annual growth in app downloads.”
